One-time clean-up
Catch-up bookkeeping for fence and trade companies
Your books are three months behind, or twelve. There's a big balance in Uncategorized, the bank doesn't match QuickBooks, and the tax preparer wants everything by March.
Who needs a clean-up?
You need one if you can't say what last month made. Or a lender has asked for statements you can't produce, or the P&L shows a margin you know isn't real.
The usual cause is a busy season. The office falls behind in May and never catches up.
What happens in the first 30 days?
The first month is the clean-up. You give me QuickBooks access and 30 minutes on the phone. I come back with a list of what's wrong and what each fix costs.
Once you say go, I work through the list. Catch-all accounts get emptied, crew pay and materials move onto the jobs, and duplicates come out. Then I reconcile every old month against the bank and close it.
What do I have to hand over?
Accountant access to QuickBooks Online, statements for every bank, card and loan account for the months that are behind, and a list of the jobs that are open right now.
If statements are missing, I tell you which ones and where to pull them. That's usually a ten-minute job on your bank's website.
What does it cost?
It's quoted after the free call, because it depends on how many months are behind and whether the chart of accounts has to be rebuilt. You get the number in writing before I start.
What happens after?
Most clean-ups roll into monthly books, so the books stay right once they're right. That's your call, not a condition.
Book a free call. Thirty minutes, and you leave with the list of what's wrong whether or not you hire me.
