About Jeremy

“Numbers don't lie.”
Why fence companies?
Fence companies tend to get the same things wrong in their books. Crew pay sits in overhead, materials never get tied to a fence type, and customer deposits count as revenue before the job is built. The books say the jobs did fine, and the owner can't tell which ones made money. Those are fixable, and once they're fixed, the numbers start answering the questions an owner actually asks.
What I won't sugarcoat
Numbers don't lie, and I won't sugarcoat what yours say. If the books show something you didn't expect, or something that looks like trouble down the road, I'll tell you. That includes the conversations that are hard to have.
Where I've been
I've spent about seventeen years in accounting. I started in government revenue and budget accounting, where every number had to tie back to something a person could check. For the last five-plus years I've been at a regional accounting and advisory firm, where I supervise. I'm a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor. I have cleaned up everything from cash and credit card reconciliations to long-term debt and capital assets.
How I start every new client
I work inside StashGrade, a finance tool built for fence companies. It reads your QuickBooks before the first call and scores it, so I start with a list instead of a guess.
Outside work
When I'm not working, I'm outside with my family and our dogs. We travel when we can, and I ski in the winter and golf in the summer.
